Sharing a 38-week bumpdate and some exciting pregnancy news! Read on for all the details, along with how I am styling this BIG belly with some cozy neutral layers!
Happy Wednesday everyone! As we approach the second weekend in February, I can hardly believe that I am 38 weeks along in my pregnancy! Not only am I SO excited to have officially been cleared from bed rest (woot woot!), I really cannot believe that my due date is right around the corner. In fact, my doctor has indicated that if I have not gone into labor by the end of next week she will induce me the beginning part of the following week, several days ahead of my due date… EEK – so surreal and exciting! In case you are wondering, this is not because anything is wrong or questionable, but basically because I am old, lol. I guess that “advanced maternal age” thing has its advantages :-).
In general, Baby is doing wonderfully well, and with the exception of a few days here and there, I am feeling really good. I must say, however, over the past few days I have definitely started to feel more uncomfortable; but I embrace it knowing it is just my body preparing for what it is supposed to do very soon. While I have said many times before that I have loved being pregnant, I am getting to that point where the novelty has worn off a bit, ha ha. My belly is feeling kind of large these days and it definitely tends to get in the way more often than not. I actually was shocked by how big my bump looked when I went to edit the photos for this post, lol!
STYLING THE BUMP IN COZY NEUTRAL LAYERS
Speaking of styling my big ole’ bump, anything comfy, warm, and stretchy is a Godsend; and if I am not wearing a top that has become a crop top overnight, it is nothing short of a miracle. Meeting these requirements is no small feat, and if you throw in the fact that it is winter here in the Midwest, I have about five semi-flattering items in my closet I can still wear, ha ha. So with that in mind, for this look I decided to layer some cozy neutral layers that have worked throughout my pregnancy and still happen to fit. This included a gray cowl-neck/off-the-shoulder knit, black skinny jeans, and a 16-year old J Crew coat (really, it is that old). I subtly changed up the look by styling it first with ankle boots and then sneakers; and later throwing on a fun pom beanie and leather tech gloves from UR Powered. This beanie is so cozy and these tech gloves are warm and work really well… no more bare-handed texting in the cold weather! Not to mention, there is no need to worry if a hat and gloves are going to fit over my belly ;-). Scroll down for outfit details and links.
I hope you enjoyed this update and post! Please feel free to leave a comment below – I would love to hear from you!
Wishing you a blessed day,
