If I have said it once, I will say it again, I have absolutely loved every minute of this pregnancy. I cannot believe our little one will be here within a matter of days! It is really surreal to both Brandon and I – in part because we weren’t sure that we were ever going to be able to have a family in this way. We are so incredibly blessed and feel beyond grateful to God for this gift; and we feel thankful to all of you who have supported, encouraged and prayed for us along the way. We are definitely nervous, but it is a welcomed life change!
I thought I would keep this post really simple and just share with you some special moments that were captured throughout the final weeks of this pregnancy, including this quick maternity shoot, our baby shower, and some random moments. I will still be doing some additional pregnancy-related posts such as a complete nursery reveal, sharing what was in my hospital bag, and what my workouts looked like throughout all three trimesters, so stay tuned. Oh, and do not worry – I won’t leave you hanging… of course I will be sharing some photos of our little one, once he or she is here!
Again, thank you for your support and I hope you enjoy these images!
Wishing you a blessed day,
We managed to snap a few maternity photos in this lovely dress from ASOS Maternity when I was about 34 weeks pregnant. This style is a bit different than something you might otherwise picture me wearing, but I thought it had a special quality and was perfect for highlighting and capturing “the bump” in a feminine way. We were going to do a professional shoot; however, this “having a baby thing” is expensive, lol! So I elected to save a bit of money and use my own camera and lens to take these shots; and instead we will be doing a professional family shoot once the little one is here. I was hoping for some snow, as I thought this dress would look gorgeous in a winter setting, but clearly it was not in the cards this winter!
My amazing sister-in-laws (pictured below) threw Brandon and I the most wonderful baby shower when I was 35 weeks along (we were SO happy to make it to the shower considering all of the preterm labor issues I had). I am not exactly the “traditional shower type,” and this event truly could not have been more perfect. We elected to have a couple’s open house so that Brandon and the other men in our lives could come celebrate with us and not be overwhelmed by estrogen in the room ;-). Not only was the setting gorgeous and the decor beyond lovely, the open house style where people could come and go and enjoy heavy hors d’oeuvres, cupcakes, drinks, and no games (ha ha) made it perfectly laid back. We were blown away by the support and generosity of so many friends and family, and – most importantly – how much this little one is already loved.
If you happen to follow along with me on Instagram, you may have seen some of these photos before; but I wanted to share a few of my favorite random moments captured during the final weeks of my pregnancy. Brandon is even more camera shy than Nala, so he only appears in one shot; and while Nala doesn’t particularly like the camera, she certainly likes to be a part of the action (and clearly has claimed her spot in the nursery, lol). The final photo was taken at 39-weeks when I was headed out for one of my last “bump-outings” when our weather was in the 60’s! Yup, this is what “about-to-pop” looks like on me, ha ha.
