I am teaming up with Pampers and Babies”R”Us, talking about some of our poolside summer plans with our little guy! I am also sharing what’s in my diaper bag for those days by the water. Read on for more…
Ahhhh, yes… Memorial Day Weekend… my favorite time of the year, as it signifies the unofficial kickoff to summer. It has been rather cool and rainy here as of late, however, we are looking forward to more sunshine as the summer progresses! Being a new mom, it is so exciting to have the opportunity to introduce Colton to some of our favorite summertime activities! With several swimming pools “in the family,” one of our favorite summer activities is spending LOTS of time poolside. We are definitely water people, and we cannot wait to introduce Colton to the water, bringing him in on the fun. He loves bath time, so we are hoping that means he will be a little fish!
As a first time mom, I am realizing that whenever we take Colton for any type of outing, that also means bringing along everything but the kitchen sink. I have quickly learned to make sure I have packed necessities that can get us through an entire day with relative ease. Let’s face it, true ease went out the window the day Colton entered the world, lol. It is amazing how much “stuff” one tiny person needs, especially when their main needs solely revolve around feedings, naps, and diaper changes. It seems so simple; however, if I am not prepared in those three areas, what would have been a good day can go downhill very quickly!
When it comes to spending time by the water, I am teaming up with Babies”R”Us and Pampers to help make sure our days by the pool are successful! As a parent of an infant, I have found that a successful day is basically driven by whether Colton is comfortable and happy (happy baby = happy parents, lol). In addition to a full tummy, this – of course – starts with a dry bottom. We have used Pampers Swaddlers on a daily basis at home since Colton was born and we love them. We find they minimize leaks really well during the day and through the night; and the wetness indicator strip on the front is sooo helpful – I only wish I would have realized what the wetness strip was before he was 6 weeks old, ha ha. We also like using Pampers Sensitive Wipes, as we have found these do not irritate his skin, which has happened with other brands. With that said, we will be sure to bring each of those along for time spent on dry land, but we are also going to give Pampers Splashers a try for our time spent in the water. We hope these will not only prevent a soggy diaper, but that they will be as leakproof as Swaddlers have been for us… preventing some unwanted surprises in the pool for everyone else, ha ha.
While the changing essentials are the most important items in my diaper bag, here is a breakdown of some other must-haves… all of which can be found in “one stop” at Babies”R”Us. As a side note, their website contains some awesome M.O.M. hacks for the month of May – great tips for staying organized this summer. Hack #26 is my favorite, and one I am going to use this summer as well! Now, onto what’s in my diaper bag for days spent by the pool:
- Pampers Swaddlers – When in a pinch, I also like to use these as burp cloths, hot/cold packs, or as a cushion under my little guy’s head if I have to lay him on a hard surface!
